Boston Court's Fall Music Series is made possible in part by the Pasadena Arts & Culture Commission and the City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Division.

Soprano, Kathleen Roland and pianist, Lisa Sylvester join forces to present an evening of lush and romantic art song transported directly from Sweden.  Though this gorgeous repertoire is not well known outside of the country that is most famous for Nobel Prizes,  Ms. Roland a former Fulbright scholar is highly regarded as an expert proponent of Scandinavian song,  and concertizes the music of many of Scandinavia’s finest composers throughout the United States.  She is joined by violinists, Jacqueline Suzuki and Lynn Grants, as well as violist, Adriana Zoppo for the American premiere of “Maria” by Daniel Börtz.  Mr. Börtz is considered to be one of Sweden’s finest living opera composers today.  Look for Kathleen’s upcoming anthology of Swedish art song, which will include composer and poet information, phonetic and word for word translations, and selections from some of Sweden’s greatest composers of 19th and 20th century romanser, or art song.

This performance begins at 8pm.
