Strings Attached
Gypsy Jazz from Pasadena City College
February 15, 2014

Boston Court's Fall Music Series generously sponsored by Elaine Kramer and Al Latham.

Boston Court's Fall Music Series is made possible in part by the Pasadena Arts & Culture Commission and the City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Division.

An unusual, emerging jazz trio from our own Pasadena City College comprised of young musicians playing strings only. Guitar, mandolin and violin are the stimulating combination of instruments featured in this fresh new approach to traditional gypsy music spiced up with their takes on contemporary jazz genres.

Strings Attached is a acoustic jazz trio composed of Bryan Dedlow (guitar), Alex Heflin (mandolin) and Francesco Canas (violin). Independently alumni of UC Irvine, & The Colburn School jazz program, currently students of Pasadena City College and with performing experience in such places as the blue whale, hip kitty, and the bootleg theater all are young but seasoned performers. Together they compose and improvise a highly inventive, authentic and engaging blend of gypsy jazz, and original music informed by a wide pool of contemporary and multi genre influences.

Tickets for this event are $15 and $10 for Students and Seniors.
