People Inside Electronics presents bitpanic: Consisting of members Casey Anderson, Scott Cazan, Clay Chaplin, David Paha, and Stephanie Smith, bitpanic is a computer music collective based in Los Angeles that explores networked compositional systems, experimental sound practices, and improvisation. The program also includes pianist Aron Kallay, percussionist Yuri Inoo, and bassist Scott Worthington performing new works by Caroline Louise Miller and Isaac Schankler.

Come see one of the most innovative new music acts anywhere to be found in Southern California.

Program Notes

Pins & Splits (2004)

The musicians alternate between a relatively still background sound and a foreground improvisation. What they play is up to them, but when they play is determined by another player. The ensemble will fluctuate between mischievous disruption and peaceful cooperation. And no, the title is not a reference to bowling. The title morphed from the original in an email thread with my fellow Hub-mates.
