Piano Spheres: Mark Robson, Pianist | Debussy Etudes and BeyondOctober 6, 2018 @ 8pm

Fearless pianist Mark Robson tackles the twelve incredibly challenging piano Etudes that Debussy himself characterized as being “a warning to pianists not to take up the musical profession unless they have remarkable hands”! Fortunately, Mr. Robson has that and more. The Debussy etudes are only half the challenge he has set for himself, as the other half of the program consists of twelve “new” etudes that Robson has commissioned from twelve of the West Coast’s most prominent composers. Each of the etudes will be inspired by one of the existing Debussy etudes, and this concert features the world premieres of all twelve commissions. Not to be missed!

The intimate performances are preceded by a preshow talk to reveal some of the intricacies of his unique style and this exquisite period of vocal music.
